The Resource Manager handles the procurement, distribution, and archiving of video, music, photography, and other assets for the Creative Marketing department, including Original Series episodes and CNN Films, licensing of photos, video, and music from third-party vendors, scheduling voiceover talent, and maintaining the department’s extensive archives.

The Daily

  • The Resource Manager will help support the CNN Creative Marketing production teams by being the point of contact for video research and photo research, especially for content that requires licensing from preferred vendors such as Getty 

  • Additionally, they will receive, archive, and make accessible to producers internally and externally footage from our department’s shoots, and will be responsible for receiving the final project files from agencies or freelance producers for future access

  • They will also support the Senior Resource Manager with the procurement, management, and licensing of assets from production partners and third-party vendors, that will be used in the production of promos for CNN Original Series, CNN Films, CNN+, and CNN News Programming

  • Additional duties will include booking voice-over talent for daily edit sessions and submitting music license requests to our Legal department for clearance

  • The Resource Manager will also provide technical guidance for producers with the transferring and conversion of files and will be willing to assist with delivering final spots to master control

  • The Resource Manager will monitor all projects through Airtable, our cloud-based project tracking platform, and will update it as needed, along with including budget information within the budget tracker base


The Essentials

  • 4+ Years in Marketing & Production

  • Content Management experience

  • Experience licensing photos, videos, and music

  • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task; not afraid to ask questions

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current news cycle

  • Proficient with Adobe software such as Premiere, After-Effects

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and file-sharing services such as Dropbox


The Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with writing and producing a plus

  • Knowledge of CNN’s Mira Library, MediaSource, and Brand Central a plus
