The Original Movies Content Strategy team is seeking a Senior Strategy Manager to join the studio behind movies such as Manchester By The Sea, The Big Sick, Coming 2 America, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and The Tomorrow War. The team is responsible for guiding all high impact strategy and content decisions for original movie productions and acquisitions.

The Original Movies Content Strategy team works closely with senior leaders across creative development, content acquisition, finance, marketing, programming, production and business affairs, and has a high degree of visibility within the organization. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about the movie business and who is capable of addressing key business questions with detailed, data-driven analysis. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build complex financial models, and communicate findings in a clear way to senior management.

Key job responsibilities

  • Evaluate movies up for greenlight including fully financed films and acquisitions; Author greenlight documents that synthesize cross-departmental insights to inform creative, business and financial impact of content decisions
  • Build Prime Video viewership projections and valuation models
  • Write strategy documents providing recommendations on content investments, slate strategy, goalsetting and business planning
  • Work with internal teams including finance, production, marketing, research and creative within Amazon to establish best practices in reporting and forecasting
  • Build and refine KPI’s across movies
  • Assess new business opportunities, investments and partnerships within and outside of Amazon
  • Perform extensive competitive analysis and benchmarking, and identify and report on SVOD industry trends

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience with product cycles of 6+ months
  • 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • BS in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar field
  • 5+ years’ experience in investment banking, management consulting, or strategy/business development at a major media or technology company.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, PhD, JD, Masters in Finance or similar degree
  • Prior experience in media and entertainment
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions
  • Advanced to expert level Excel skills and familiarity with statistical concepts/analysis
  • Solid understanding of media and entertainment landscape, new digital trends and technologies
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
