The Location Sound Mixer (Part-Time) is responsible for capturing sound on AMDA Film projects throughout each semester. Projects are student written, and act as a culminating class project that is captured by a professional crew. Location Sound Mixer (Part-Time) duties include providing recording equipment, setting up and operating equipment, and capturing production sound for each project. The position will liaise with the Director/Editor of the assigned project to capture quality recordings within the bounds of available resources.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide necessary recording equipment (mixer, microphones, media capture, etc.)
• Setup, breakdown, and operate necessary recording equipment
• Appropriately monitor signals to detect malfunctions or deviations to ensure quality recordings
• Appropriately monitor sound levels to ensure quality recording
• Apply technical knowledge of recording equipment to correctly capture audio
• Sync monitor to camera as requested to assist director with post production requirements
• Work within available resources
• Assist in advising students of best practices for capturing sound and respecting equipment
• Deliver sound capture at the end of each shoot

• BA or BFA in a related field preferred
• 1 – 2 years of previous experience in a similar position
• Can provide necessary recording equipment to capture quality production audio
• Reel samples encouraged
• Experience in the Film Production Industry
• Flexible attitude; friendly customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be reliable to shooting assignments once confirmed (typically weekends)
