The NBCUniversal Entertainment Program Strategy group is looking for a Manager to join our team in overseeing the content strategy for NBCUniversal’s networks. This role will be focused on programming for the USA and SYFY networks, helping to determine schedules of original series, theatrical movies and acquired series. This person will be responsible for creating and updating 24-hour schedules, as well as tracking content performance and managing an extensive content library. We’re looking for an analytical and creative person with a background in program scheduling and content strategy to join our highly collaborative and fast-paced team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage short-term program planning and scheduling for the USA and SYFY linear networks
  • Create, build, maintain and distribute monthly schedules throughout the company, including scheduling of original series, acquired series and movies
  • Handle all necessary schedule changes, including complex and time sensitive revisions to programming lineups
  • Assist Senior Director in managing extensive movie library, including tracking title inventory/windowing, projecting future usage and selecting titles for acquisition
  • Constantly monitor ratings and performance trends, and pitch and implement strategies to improve content performance
  • Brainstorm, pitch and schedule programming stunts to drive ratings, secure sponsorships and support NBCU priorities
  • Research monthly movie titles, including compiling ratings and analyzing past performance to inform scheduling strategy
  • Assist the team in developing long-term program plans and accurately enter them into scheduling system
  • Work closely with program operations, on-air promotions and traffic groups to ensure program versions and timings are accurate
  • Work with team coordinator to ensure all program metadata is correct and entered into scheduling system
  • Serve as team liaison with marketing and sales groups to coordinate all sponsored program opportunities
  • Represent scheduling team in cross-departmental strategy meetings and ensure priorities are communicated
  • Serve as team lead in tracking and projecting competitive television landscape
  • Troubleshoot the Compass scheduling system and suggest enhancements
  • Serve as seamless coverage for Senior Director and Coordinator of Program Scheduling
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, film studies, or related field
  • Minimum of 4+ years working in programming or scheduling
  • Minimum of 5+ years working in television or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Passion for media and entertainment industries
  • Flexibility with day-to-day schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
