I am looking for a passionate and motivated producer with experience acquiring funds/investors for low budget horror feature (under ~1 million). I would need someone skilled with budgeting and who can oversee an experienced line producer in keeping departments on track with finances. The goal is to enter as many film festivals as possible in order to attract a distributor. Shooting could be done in Los Angeles, but I would also love to produce it somewhere with tax incentives, including the Chicago area or Atlanta.
About the project: LOGLINE. "A woman becomes the victim of increasingly violent poltergeist attacks; in the fight to save herself she discovers horrifying things about her manipulative husband... and herself." It is set almost entirely in one house, with a handful of other locations. It is primarily a psychological horror, so little special effects would be needed.
About me: I recently had the queer dark comedy web series I wrote and directed in several film festivals, winning Best Web Series at the Dublin International Comedy Film Fest. I have also placed top 15% in the Nicholl Fellowship. I have written and directed two short films as well. I work as a set decorator and have written several spec features and TV comedies, primarily focusing on queer characters or with dark elements. While this horror is not queer, there are non hetero-normative elements, so I would love to find someone who loves that aspect of the storytelling.
