The Design & Digital Media Department at Shondaland is looking for a Graphic Designer to work within the Design and Digital Media Department to execute art for the overall company with a focus on the digital editorial publication and social channels.
THE DAILIES - YOUR IMPACT:
- Collaborate with the art director to create multiple images for daily articles, monthly feature packages, logos, key art and social art across mediums and platforms
- Develop & maintain consistent designs that are innovative, creative, useful, and align with company brand standards
- Create templates for cross-functional teams that maintain company creative standards and consistency through meticulous review and QC
- Customize branded original podcast graphics and toolkits
- Develop a mix of new, creative, and refreshing existing collateral and brand pieces
- Create presentations and mood boards that tell creative stories for editorial web series
- Work with departments across the organization to create presentations, graphics, or heavy projects such as business cards and gifting items
- Contribute ideas to creative brainstorms within the department
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops and participating in professional networking groups
- Other duties assigned
YOUR ESSENTIALS - QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Design or Illustration degree program desired. Similar art program certification will be considered in lieu of degree
- 4+ years of experience in editorial design, design/marketing or similar environment
- Diverse portfolio that demonstrates design experience and exhibits excellent use of typography, color, imagery, photo manipulation/retouching and graphic elements
- Excellent print/web layout, color theory, typography, illustration, and production skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to keep up with changing tasks in a fast-paced team environment
- Working knowledge of print technology
- Visual Storyteller, possessing excellent creative, presentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as an eye for small details and a passion for big ideas
- Ability to take daily creative notes and feedback and quickly mold your art to the needs of each project
- Willingness to update job knowledge by participating in educational training and conference opportunities
- Professional working knowledge of Adobe CC Suite specifically Photoshop/Illustrator (a plus: After Effects and In-Design)
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and with other departments
- Ability to learn the CMS and use Microsoft Office programs, Slack, Gmail programs and Trello
- Ability to design from concept through completion for graphic packages
