Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the CCO and COO on a daily basis to understand creative, business, and strategy goals and manage a production system that can both maintain the creation of 7+ hours of existing original content made per week and be prepared to tackle new and exciting projects.  This person must be able to thoroughly grasp the needs of a consistently evolving slate of projects and anticipate where future challenges will arise.
  • Manage a robust production & post production department consisting of a Director of Production & Post, Line Producer, Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, Post Production Manager, Editors, Sound Mixers and more.
  • Set and maintain industry leading production & post production standards across the studio and identify areas of improvement to workflows, technology, and processes on a consistent basis.
  • Supervise a growing team of content management analysts who are responsible for regular content analytic reports and ensuring all content launches across multiple platforms.
  • Work closely with senior executives and external agents to plan and execute custom and integrated branded content, from concept / ideation / sales stage through release.
  • Advise on production workflows across various Mythical investments and joint ventures.
  • Support the work of production and distribution teams charged with editing and syndicating Mythical content across social media platforms and all FAST/OTT channels.
  • Oversee all production accounting workflows and ensure that all freelance payroll, check requests, and credit card logs are properly processed through the Director of Production & Post.
  • Vet and approve cost reports across all content, delivered monthly by the Director of Production & Post  to Senior management.
  • Ensure all company-wide policies, standards, and protocols are upheld on location and in-studio by all production & post production staff.
  • Work closely with the VP of People & Operations to ensure all production teams are collaborating with the operations team and adhering to all facilities & safety standards.
  • Oversee the organization and production of various touring, live and special-events, representing the studio with third-party production partners. 
  • Lead all podcasting efforts across the studio, working closely with the VP of Digital Content and senior management on strategy, development and audience growth.
  • Ensure all necessary Insurances and Rights/Clearances are obtained for performers, locations, music, stock footage, and other production elements, raising concerns to the legal team whenever necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with multiple external vendors including payroll, insurance, production partners, post production services, and more.  Responsible for renegotiating favorable terms annually where applicable.
  • Actively manage and mentor a large team of ambitious people, providing regular feedback and opportunities for improvement and advancement. 
  • Identify new revenue sources and strategize with Senior management on a regular basis.

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Head of Production or Production Executive at a digital or traditional media company.
  • Experience managing a large full-time team and an understanding of how to mentor and guide people to do their best work.
  • In-depth understanding of the pre-production, production, accounting, labor relations, and post-production processes.
  • Experience in diverse formats across the digital and scripted landscape: scripted, unscripted, game show/variety, photoshoots, podcasts, social media, music video, and live performance.
