We are seeking an Associate Creative Director with deep experience in photography and video commissioning for TV to join our Apple TV team and oversee creative direction for Sports and Special Project shoots.
Key Qualifications
- Impeccable taste in visual media
- Up-to-date on the best photographers and directors shaping the aesthetic of entertainment, editorial and sports creative
- Expert in commissioning all different types of photography including action/reportage, portraiture of celebrities and non-celebrities, conceptual and still life, working with photographers of all levels all around the world
- Additional background in short-form editorial video series, and video directors and agencies producing compelling, authentic short video
- Forward thinking about the future of photography and how new types of photography, video art and photo/motion hybrids could be powerful creative tools
- Expert at the intricacies of shoot production in the entertainment and sports industries, including fee standards and negotiation, contracts, crew booking, and logistics of working within show sets, live sporting events, and union rules
- Able to make hard calls, balance contending interests, and deliver back excellent work whether the crew is 5 people or 50
- Advanced understanding of how to tailor art to different platforms, devices and audiences. Experience working with personalization of artwork across demographics and A/B testing, and how to optimize key frames and key art for maximum engagement.
- Meticulous budget management
- Deep understanding of how the TV Streaming industry works
Additional Requirements
- - Portfolio required with examples of original photo and video commissions that reflect a consistent, A+ taste level and excellent execution
- - 9+ years relevant experience required; bonus for tours in commissioning for editorial and sport-related creative.
- Degree in BS/BA Photography, Film or New Media preferred
