This Summer/Fall Trainee position is from May/June through December 13th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Fire Department trainee will assist the Supervising Fire Marshall in developing and implementing a comprehensive Fire Operations Manual, assist in the development and implementation of electronic inspection programs, and support the Supervising Fire Marshall in an administrative capacity.

  • Additionally, the Fire Department Trainee may be tasked with assisting in entry-level field work including conducting inspections of fire and life safety equipment, inspections of offices, stages and support buildings, responding to calls related to fire and life safety, and supporting the Sony Fire Department during fire, medical and other Studio related emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Fire Science, or an Associate Degree and Fire Fighter 1 Certification from the California State Fire Marshall. 

  • Additional course work related to Fire Science, Emergency Medicine, Disaster Management/FEMA or other related topic(s) is desirable.  

  • Experience with motion picture and television production is also desirable.
